About Us

The Arkansas Collegiate Model United Nations (ACMUN) was established by Dr. Chris Housenick at Arkansas Tech University in 2011.  Annual ACMUN conferences were held at ATU in Russellville from 2011 to 2016.  The University of Central Arkansas hosted ACMUN conferences in Conway in 2017, 2018, 2019, as well as a virtual conference in 2020.  During the first ten years of the ACMUN, participants have included delegates from twelve different colleges and universities in the state of Arkansas, two universities in state of Oklahoma, and one university in Colombia — Arkansas State University (Beebe, Arkansas), Arkansas State University (Jonesboro, Arkansas), Arkansas Tech University (Russellville, Arkansas), Harding University (Searcy, Arkansas), Hendrix College (Conway, Arkansas), Universidad de La Salle (Bogotá, Colombia), Lyon College (Batesville, Arkansas), Northeastern State University (Tahlequah, Oklahoma), Northwest Arkansas Community College (Bentonville, Arkansas), Oklahoma State University (Stillwater, Oklahoma), University of Arkansas (Fayetteville, Arkansas), University of Arkansas (Little Rock, Arkansas), University of Arkansas (Monticello, Arkansas), University of Arkansas Community College (Morrilton, Arkansas), and University of Central Arkansas (Conway, Arkansas).  

The hosting of ACMUN will take place at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR in 2021 and 2023, and Northwest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville, AR in 2022 and 2024. The committees for those upcoming conferences will include Arab League, Economic and Social Council, Human Rights Council, and Security Council. This web site shall contain information about on-site amenities, conference handbooks, committee topics, country assignments, registration costs, registration forms, and information about hardship scholarships for these upcoming conferences. This web site is currently managed by Dr. Matt Evans of NWACC and Dr. Cameron Wimpy of ASU.
